Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving for many is getting there and then getting home, but where we are all going?

Wait, smile….It’s all good. One aspect of thanks giving is being present to the moment, awareness of where we have been and where we are going. Who is watching and are we watching ourselves?  Oneness is happening all around us all the time. Live it up! We’re in this together on the planet, easier when we are giving and thankful. Peace be still

What can Corporations embrace?
Related to country: United States

Within the new consciousness of one world each one of us depends on the welfare of all. One day corporations will be required by government to cultivate an environment harmonious with nature. Air, water and soil as well as animals and plants deserve protection, preservation, and care. Corporations of the past have placed profit over people, self-interest over justice and oppression over equality, and for the general public it often has felt like corporate voice and behavior is the government. Limitless exploitation of the natural foundations of life, ruthless destruction of the biosphere, and militarization of the cosmos are all outrages. Corporations no longer have the freedom to use natural resources with disregard for the needs of society and Earth.

Individual leaders in business who embrace Global ethics with a commitment to social equilibrium are on the cutting edge, before government steps in demanding the change which is inevitable. Those few forerunners will set irrevocable standards for human dignity and personal attitudes towards waste and the environment. They will present information truthfully with objectivity, fairness, and the preservation of human dignity. The corporate leaders will respond in ways that reflect a long term goals that harmonize with the planet, committed to a culture of tolerance and a life of truthfulness.

areas we might all agree on peacefully.
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | German

Restoration of peace will not come quickly; humanity has been fighting since the beginning of recorded history. We must all chose to not fight. The habit of saying “it has always been this way” is false; we know nothing about civilizations 10,000 years ago. We can witness behavior at every moment and learn to control ourselves, the great masters and teachers have done so.

It’s not you against me, it’s you and me against the problem. The problem is the problem. Most people and nations go into battle convinced, I’m right, you’re wrong; I’m good, you’re evil; I’m wise, you’re foolish; I’m going to win, you’re going to lose. Even if one side does win, the first reaction of the loser is, I want a rematch: I’ll come back with meaner words, harder fists and bigger bombs. Then you’ll learn, then you’ll be good and then we’ll have peace forever.

One side must give up and in tolerance stride towards peace. Approach the problem rather than the person with the problem. Competition is reduced by seeking commonality and peace is enhanced by resisting competition.

Gandhi routinely said, don’t bring your opponents to their knees; bring them to their senses. Nonviolence means prevention before the crisis.

might take some time to think of areas we might all agree on peacefully.
Translations available in: English (original) | Italian | German | Arabic

I was curious if any of you might take some time to think of areas we might all agree on peacefully. Add them to the list I have begun. The model here might not be exactly peaceful; perhaps the discussion could be more like a community exploration of ideas. The chosen parameter is taken as a suggestion or recommendation, so hopefully we can keep it light. Have fun with this, I do not expect any of the ideas to be necessarily easy for any of us or even possible to achieve. I am probing our commonality and moral ethics we can voluntarily live by.

Guideline for feedback: make a suggestion; if you like it say it twice, if you do not, state what the modification could be. Keep it simple and short. The exercise is meant to explore our prejudices and attachments interiorly, while collecting a forum of written opinions.

First idea. No more manufacturing of guns and weapons of destruction, globally, worldwide.

Second idea. Each person can replace themselves once in the population, globally, worldwide.

Third idea. Those in industry using natural renewable resources must replace them as part of their cost, globally, worldwide.

Forth idea. One currency, globally, worldwide, The European nations are trying.

Fifth idea. One day a week of rest and reflection, no cars, shopping, business, etc. remember its voluntary

Sixth idea. No military for any country; Canada, Mexico and Switzerland are examples

Seventh idea. Control the international conglomerates

Eighth idea.  Balance the world ..it isn't always about 1=1 but can be 1=2 or 1=1/2    agree to disagree.

Ninth idea. Start the morning with six minutes of silence for grammar school and twelve minutes of quiet in high schools.

Related to country: Mexico

In the age of a globalized human community and a shrinking world, interfaith dialogue and action is no longer just commendable endeavor but a historical necessity. The Art Installation for Wolrd Peace in Mexico is called “The Dialogue Project”and does not communicate with words, but through the portraits of those who teach and remind us of the mysteries that are fundamental to our experience of being human. Inter-religious tolerance that encourages understanding, acceptance, respect, celebration and action is essential to our survival. The faith community of today, worldwide has a duty to develop new initiatives and agenda for cooperation throughout our contemporary society. www.peacebestill.net
